Today I went to walk the boardwalk and the images of pollution in the Costa Verde continuing and appears to be increasing. The sea changes tones and very dark stains which seem to concentrate or currents help to show more pollution. I made a calculation of the amount of human waste are dumped into the sea daily.
medics, a person produces 300 grams of feces daily on average and taking into account the 9 million people living in Lima, then our capital produced 2.7 million kilos are 27.000 tons per day. Assuming that 26% of people do not use the drain or using latrines, we have a production of 20,000 tonnes per day to be at sea by the city sewers.
This means that since I started my Blog 180 days ago have been thrown into the sea 3.6 million tons of excrement that pollute our seas, especially the green coast. Check out the video to take this day by the end of my blog.
